Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) Benefit Online Auction

SAQA 2013 Benefit Auction Donation

Twirl is my 2013 Studio Art Quilt Association Benefit Auction donation.

Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) 2013 Benefit Online Auction starts tomorrow at 2pm Eastern. This link will lead you to a page where you can read about how the auction works.  Take advantage of this is great opportunity to add a piece of original fiber art into your collection.  Just think you can go shopping without ever leaving your chair!  Your purchase helps support SAQA’s exhibition programs.    Artwork is donated from talented fiber artists from all over the world.

Each quilt was created and donated by a member of SAQA.  In my opinion all of the artwork is wonderful!   The auction lasts 3 weeks with new pieces available each week starting on Monday.  The prices vary daily, starting on Monday at $750 and ending up on Saturday at $75.  Each quilt is 12″ square.

I have accumulated a few over the past couple of  years.  My collection includes pieces from Clairan Ferrono from Illinois and Daniela Dancelli from Italy.

This is my third year contributing to the auction.  The piece I donated is a 3D fabric construction piece I created for the SDA Michigan challenge I participated in earlier this year.  You can read more about it here.  I snow dyed the fabric and it all started  from and was inspired by a fat quarter of Kona cotton dyed lemon yellow.  The quilt is all hand dyed and also uses aluminum tubing, metal grommets and rubber gaskets.  The quilt is all machine stitched.  SAQA’s website shows a better photograph with the shadows showing.  Hanging apparatus was included with the quilt for its new owner.  This quilt can also very easily be hung on the wall with t-pins.

I also have pinned some (35 to be exact!) of my favorites from this years auction on my SAQA Auction Quilts board on Pinterest  the entire collection of quilts available is also on SAQA’s Pinterest board.  Have fun scrolling through and reading about everyone’s contributions.
